About the role

As Head of Finance, you will lead and expand our finance organization. This is a true builder role. You will architect best-practice workflows, expand KPIs to measure efficiency and data quality and serve as a trusted partner to the executive team.

The Core Responsibilities:

  • Accounting: Coordinate, support and guide the internal and external accounting teams to ensure an accurate accounting with all necessary activities for month-end-closing, budget and year-end-closing including all tax issues.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ensure accuracy and compliance with Swiss GAAP. Lead annual budgeting cycle, maintain rolling forecasts and perform variance analysis.
  • Partner and Influence: Lead regular finance partnering sessions with other department heads to drive inter company decision making. Define finance function’ structure, roles and growth roadmap. Develop, document and automate end-to-end finance workflows.
  • Treasury, Cash Management & Tax: Manage cash flow forecasts, working capital optimization and banking relationships and oversee payments, collections and support on funding strategies. Drive cost reduction initiatives and operational efficiencies. Oversee corporate tax and VAT compliance and liaise with external advisors.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support in the preparation of Board and Investor materials. Manage relationships with auditors and other external advisors. Lead and foster a high-performance finance culture and set clear team objectives.
  • Build & Lead: Define the optimal org structure, propose clear career paths and performance metrics and lead own team.

You should apply if you have a

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels in English and German.
  • Experience in building and scaling finance teams.
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally, promoting collaboration towards unified objectives and have a flexible ‘hands on mentality’.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand technology initiatives and strategy with business objectives to enable fast business growth.

The following experience is valued

  • Have work experience in a financially regulated industry such as insurance or banking and understanding insurance processes.

Was Sie erwartet

  • Eigenständige, proaktive Bearbeitung und Abwicklung von national sowie international geprägten, komplexen Versicherungsfällen im Motorfahrzeug-, Sach- und Haftpflichtversicherung
  • Proaktiver Kontakt zu den am Schadenbearbeitungsprozess beteiligten Stellen (Geschädigte/ Anspruchsteller, Gutachter, Underwriter, Legal, Compliance etc.)
  • Schadensachbearbeitung, insbesondere Bestimmung der Deckung und Haftung sowie Analyse des Schadenumfanges, rechtzeitige Identifizierung und Sicherstellung von lohnenden Regressen, Erkennen von Betrugsfällen sowie allen Eingaben und Verarbeitung im System
  • Sicherstellung einer sorgfältigen Bewertung und Bildung von risikogerechten Rückstellungen unter Einhaltung der geltenden Best Practices
  • Sicherstellung eines durchgehend hohen Standards beim Kundenservice
  • Regelmässiger Austausch mit dem Underwriting zur Weiterentwicklung von Policen sowie Abstimmung individueller Kundenbetreuung
  • Vorschläge zur Weiterentwicklung (Automatisierung) und Verbesserung unserer IT-Plattform

Was Sie mitbringen

  • Erfahrung in der Schadenbearbeitung, idealerweise in den Sparten Motorfahrzeug-, Sach- und Haftpflichtversicherung
  • Kenntnisse im Versicherungsrecht von Vorteil
  • Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten
  • Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch, sowohl schriftlich als auch mündlich (Englisch von Vorteil, ist aber kein «Must»)
  • Strukturierte Arbeitsweise, effizientes Zeitmanagement und gute Selbstorganisation
  • Routiniert im Umgang mit vielfältigen IT-Systemen

About the role

As a claims handler at Toni, you will play a central role in our claims management and contribute directly to the optimization of processes for our customers. This position offers you the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of InsurTechs and contribute your practical experience in an innovative start-up environment.

What you can expect

  • Independent, proactive processing and handling of complex national and international insurance claims in motor vehicle, property and liability insurance
  • Proactive contact with the parties involved in the claims handling process (injured parties/claimants, experts, underwriters, legal, compliance, etc.)
  • Claims handling, in particular determination of cover and liability as well as analysis of the scope of the claim, timely identification and securing of worthwhile recourse, recognition of fraud cases as well as all entries and processing in the system
  • Ensuring a careful assessment and formation of risk-appropriate provisions in compliance with applicable best practices
  • Ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service
  • Regular exchange with underwriting for the further development of policies and coordination of individual customer support
  • Suggestions for further development (automation) and improvement of our IT platform

What you bring with you

  • Experience in claims processing, ideally in the motor vehicle, property and liability insurance sectors
  • Knowledge of insurance law is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Very good communication skills in German, both written and verbal (English is an advantage, but not a must)
  • Structured way of working, efficient time management and good self-organization
  • Experienced in dealing with a wide range of IT systems

About the role
