Expanding Horizons with Bike Insurance
Having established a strong foundation in health insurance, ÖKK partnered with Toni Digital to diversify into non-life insurance, starting with bike insurance. This new offering closely aligns with their existing emphasis on health and sports, providing a natural extension to their portfolio. The initiative was driven by a goal to ensure swift and affordable onboarding for customers, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction. Another first-of-its-kind initiative in Switzerland was the inclusion of e-bikes into the insurance coverage, treating them equally to traditional bikes.
Seamless Partnership Drives Innovation
The strategic alliance between ÖKK and Toni Digital was significant for several reasons. First, through Toni Digital’s innovative white-label insurance product, backed by ERV, a leader in European travel insurance, ÖKK could introduce their bike insurance without the usual licensing requirements. This collaboration not only accelerated the development process but also enabled the creation of the bike insurance product in under 4 months – more than three times quicker than the industry’s 18-month average.
Innovative Customer-Centric Insurance Solutions
The initiative was marked by an innovative approach where Toni Digital developed a specialized bike insurance product under ÖKK’s brand. This allowed ÖKK to offer a new service seamlessly integrated into its existing portfolio. The inclusion of both traditional bikes and e-bikes in the insurance coverage at the same pricing was a significant innovation, demonstrating ÖKK’s commitment to inclusivity and forward-thinking.
